Inviting Others to Use Allstacks

User Management allows you to invite others to use Allstacks.

Note: If your organization uses Single Sign On you can ignore this workflow. You will sign in and create users via your SSO provider instead.

The organization menu resides at the top-right of any page and will reflect the name of your organization. Select “User Management” to get started.

To invite new users, click the “Invite User” button. This will prompt a modal requesting the name, email address and role of the new user. The new user will then receive an invite to your Allstacks organization via email.

Special Settings

  • Roles appended with “Anonymized Data” will not have access to the Individuals report, and all metrics that would typically display individual data contributor’s names will instead show “Hidden Contributors”.

  • The View Manager and Read Only roles will enable the Workspace Access dropdown. This will allow you to restrict the workspaces that login user is able to view. By default, all users can see all workspaces.

 

SSO/Role Management options:

There are 2 ways to give someone access.


Option 1 (recommended): Invite First, Then SSO

Admin sends the user an email invite to give best control.

What happens:

  • User must click the email and finish setup

  • After that, SSO works

  • Role and workspace are set correctly

Good:

  • Right role

  • Right workspace

Not so good:

  • One extra step


Option 2: SSO without Invite

User logs in from their company login (IdP) which is the fastest way.

What happens:

  • They get a View Manager role by default

  • They pick their own workspace

Good:

  • Very fast

  • Fewer steps

Not so good:

  • Role might be wrong

  • Workspace can’t be assigned ahead of time
