Grouping & Filtering by Roles or Teams via Tagging
Tags allow users to group or filter metrics based on individual users into various categories instead.
The example scenario below shows velocity by developer team, but this concept can be applied to most other metrics, and you can create tags that represent teams, departments, divisions, or seniority.

Grouping Using Tags in Metrics
Any metric based on people (pull request creators, card assignees, etc) can be grouped by tags.
In this example, we are going to take a metric that commonly looks at individuals, like velocity, and use tagging to group that data by team.
By default, this metric is shown using the card assignee as the series, but we want to group by team. In the “Grouping” option under assignees, you can chose to group by tag, and then you can pick the category name you want to group by.
Other metrics that can benefit from tag grouping:
Pull request response time. Use “Creator” on the x-axis and group by tag.
Filtering Using Tags in Metrics
Tags can also be used as a filter when using the people filter in the top middle of the metric page.
Note: The members/employees/data contributors must be enabled at the team level for their data to appear in the metric.
